    Summary
Sunday’s solid run of SE groundswell held in the 4 to 6ft range across the region before gradually settling in the afternoon. The tail end was still running at a clean 3 to 4ft on Monday morning and it will continue to fade over the next 24 hours; still showing at infrequent 2 to 3ft levels early on Tuesday morning before dissipating into the afternoon.

The good news is there’s more swell on the way from multiple directions over the course of the week – but by and large it’s looking hard to pin down specifics. The most notable new swell source is a deep mid-latitude low located within close proximity of New Zealand’s North Island. For the remainder of Monday and throughout Tuesday morning this storm is widely forecast to support a compact fetch-area of 30 to 50kt gales, transitioning from ESE to SE/SSE in direction as the low drifts southeast and hovers directly over or just west of the North Cape.
