    Summary
Friday’s south swell kicked in at size both north and south of the border – and it’s well worth making the most of the tail-end of this event while it lasts. The continued eastward migration of the deep Tasman low responsible for this event translates into a favourable shift in swell direction to the SSE (175 to 165 degrees) over the course of the weekend; progressively opening up a wider range of clean surfing options across all coasts.

Expect still large and powerful conditions up to 6 to 8ft across northern NSW southern exposures on Saturday morning. That will lend the focus to open beaches as well as Byron and southern QLD as the swell wraps at anywhere from 2 to 6ft+ depending on location. It is, however, well worth making the most of early light and variable winds on Saturday morning, before they veer to the north and freshen into the afternoon.
