    Summary
A deep and large scale storm system evolved under WA over the weekend and has entered with full force into the bight today. This storm is in solid alignment with Victoria’s WSW to SW swell window, leading to an incoming of heavy groundswells in the days ahead.

A broad 40 to 50 knot WSW/SW fetch passed under Western Australian with fully developed seas of 40 to 50ft pushing across the Southern Ocean. The storm is maintaining this impressive sea-state as it closes in on Victoria today, resulting in a large scale WSW swell-event arriving across the region Tuesday; initially at a fairly acute westerly angle of 255 degrees but wrapping with deepwater and high level swell energy. This is shaping up as a serious winter event; holding potential for 8 to 12ft conditions across exposed beaches and solid 6 to 8ft+ sets along the Surf Coast.
