Garage Handplanes

Based in Avalon Beach, Garage Handplanes designs and manufactures high performance, beautiful bodysurfing handplanes.

Bodysurfing is the perfect way to get in both the ocean and into that elusive tube. We at Garage Handplanes believe that the tube is the greatest place available for a human to lose oneself in the majesty of nature. And bodysurfing is the perfect way to get there.

We foster the body surfing fraternity as an underground current of people looking for an alternative source of fun, fitness, inspiration and belonging. It is slightly uncool and a very humbling pursuit and that’s why we like it. We’re all just heads bobbing in the water when we’re bodysurfing. Age, body shape, gender etc has no meaning.

So, we’re saying get in the current, the underground, undefined, movement where simply getting out there will allow you to take part. And with a Garage Handplane you can ‘Get Inside It’ easier – quicker – and make it out more often.
