Matt Hoy's 4 Golden Rules Of Mateship

SUMATRA CHARTERS | THE MATE SHIP

When you’ve lived the life of a World Tour legend, out of a suitcase, on couches, on kitchen floors, in airport terminals – the only mantra that matters is mateship! Wipe your feet, scrub a dish & fuel the stoke: these are the salt of the earth solutions that a top bloke like Matt Hoy lives by. So who better to sort out your dirtbag buddies than the undisputed king of all things mateship? You asked, he listened. Heed his calls..

"Oi Hoy, My mate squeezes the water out of his wetsuit like a giant dish sponge after every surf. It's heaps annoying. What should I do?"
Hoy: Mate. At least he's trying to dry his wettie. It could be worse! What if he chucked it straight in your car soaking wet, smelling of piddle?

"Oi Hoy, one of my mates insists on never bringing a towel and makes the car seat all wet on the way home from a surf every single time. What should I do?"
Hoy: Mate, lend him a towel but don't let him keep it - just stash it in your car. Either that, or he can hitch home nude. That'll teach him.

"Oi Hoy, I am sick of lending my wax to other people in the carpark! It's all gone before I even get to use it! But I also don't want to be a wax stinge. How can I handle this conundrum?"
Hoy: Yeah mate, get a full DREDED deck on your board so when they asked all you have to say is "I don't use wax!"

"Oi Hoy, How do you deal with a mate who you wait on constantly while they're changing fins and doing pointless stuff. And when they're finally ready, they don't wait the 20 seconds for you to lock the car, they just sprint off?"
Hoy: Don't wait. Get ready, lock your car, and get out there. He'll figure it out when he runs down the beach without his fins!!
