Tasmania's picturesque east coast came to life two days ahead of Santa on December 23. The swell was out of the NE. It was the fourth solid swell in less than a month. If you tally up the good days during all 4 swells, there have been 10 days of swell since the 20th of November.

The water temperature has finally started warming up in the last 2 weeks, allowing most crew to bust out the old 3/2 for a summer spin. Adam Gibbon was down visiting from the mainland on his annual visit to coincide with the Falls festival. Joining Adam on the east slabs were Jy Johannesson, Ethan Wilson, Matt Kennedy and Simon Treewick.

Reeling 3-4ft plus pits bowled over the shallow reef. Jy let loose with some huge punts, whilst Ethan got slotted inside barrel after barrel. Wave size early in the morning was quite solid, up to 5 foot; however the swell did back off early with the rising fanta color sun.

The swell hung around for the rest of the day and on the lower tide, the younger crew of Hamish Renwick, Ethan, Matt and Jy bolted further up the coast where they scored head high flat bottom peaks at Cray Drop In.
