QUIKSILVER PRO TO BE BROADCAST LIVE ON FUEL TV

For the first time on Australian television FUEL TV will broadcast LIVE and exclusive coverage of all the action from the 2010 Quiksilver Pro presented by Land Rover.

The action will be fast, furious and LIVE from the first ASP men’s world tour event on the southern end of the Gold Coast.

In what is shaping up to be the most anticipated surfing season ever, the stakes have never been higher than in the 2010 Quiksilver Pro presented by Land Rover.

Nine-time world champion Kelly Slater (USA), reigning two-time world champion Mick Fanning (AUS), defending event champion Joel Parkinson (AUS) and world no.3 Bede Durbidge (AUS) will all be out to kick-start their 2010 campaigns with a win.

Dane Reynolds (USA) and Jordy Smith (Sth Afr) will no doubt challenge the top ranks harder than ever this year.

Rookies Owen Wright (AUS) and Dusty Payne (HAW) are poised to upset the top seeds.

“Last year I was in Hawaii watching the Eddie from the beach and all my mates back in Australia were ringing me up watching in their lounge rooms on Fuel TV,” said Durbidge.

“It’s awesome you can sit there watching a contest for eight hours from your own couch,” he added.

FUEL TV will be on-site to bring the all the ASP World Tour excitement LIVE into the homes of Australians.

Adam Howarth, FUEL TV Australia Channel Manager, said FUEL TV was excited to bring LIVE surfing into the homes of Australian families.

“Surfing is a part of the fabric of Australian sport and the Australian way of life, so we are incredibly proud to be able to provide live coverage of the world’s premier surfing tour to a national audience,” he said.

Coverage will also be seen on FUEL TV in the USA and Portugal.

After the success of surfing coverage from the Pipeline Masters in Hawaii and The Search in Portugal last year FUEL TV is excited to present a comprehensive LIVE broadcast of the Quiksilver Pro presented by Land Rover from February 27th to March 10th.

The opening ASP Men’s World Tour event will be staged in conjunction with the upgraded US $100,000 Roxy Pro on the southern end of the Gold Coast, the opening event of the 2010 ASP Women’s World Tour.
The Quiksilver Pro is presented by LAND ROVER and proudly supported by Corona, Jetstar, Olympus, Gold Coast City Council (GCCC), Connecting Southern Gold Coast (CSGC), Moreton hire, Telstra, Coastalwatch & RBSLSC.
