Bali, Indonesia Surf Forecast 24 July - 5 August 2019
Forecast Issued Tuesday, 23 July 2019
The arrival of another sizeable winter-scale SSW groundswell was of the required caliber for running the Rip Curl Cup at Padang Padang on Monday – and the tail end was still showing plenty of size on Tuesday morning; up around 4 to 6ft+ up at Uluwatu, with a steady decline following throughout the afternoon. Just as the tail end of this event subsides to more accessible levels on Wednesday, it’s rapidly reinforced by a new, overlapping SSW groundswell that’s set to boost wave-heights again throughout the day, leading in another pumping afternoon of overhead surf across the premier west-facing reefs.
The origin of this event was another intense frontal low that fed into a complex system anchored inside Western Australian longitudes; plumb inside Indonesia’s south swell window. The storm produced another broad swathe of 40 to 50knot+ SW to WSW winds over the region on Friday and the weekend; setting up another long-period SSW groundswell that should hit full stride late Wednesday through early Thursday; giving rise to 6 to 8ft conditions before slowly tapering off again into the end of the week. The downward trend is offset by a new, smaller SSW pulse slated to arrive on Sunday 28th, before settling to more accessible levels across exposed coasts throughout the week of Monday 29th.
