SE QLD SWELL REPORT: The Points are Coming Back

It’s been a great year for waves on the Gold Coast and the latest batch we scored from the late last week into early this week was courtesy of an east coast low from deep in the Tasman Sea. It was small early in the piece with strong SSE winds and the most of the Southerly swell was sliding past the coast. D’bah and TOS were the pick as they were picking up more of the swell.

On the weekend, there were small, fun ones on the points as the sand is gradually coming back to the top of the points at Snapper and Currumbin Alley after they were scoured out in autumn. On Monday and Tuesday conditions moderated, the wind backed off and although the swell was smaller, it had a bit more East in it and there were some fun waves to be had on the South swell magnets.

Small, fun waves under cloudless skies in crystal clear 20 degree water, perfect Queensland winter conditions.
