Back to Back Swells For Magic May

Recap by Dan Wyer
We have seen a pretty epic week over here in the west. Magic May conditions showed with back to back swells and favourable Autumn winds.
Monday saw a rare spike in straight W'ly ground swell catching many by surprise. The Yallingup region delivered with clean 3-4ft lines through the morning ramping up to a solid 10ft+ later in the afternoon. An epic session went down as the swell peaked at Yals Main with local lads Antman, Taco, Alfy, Bradsy and Adz all charging some solid bombs. Further down the coast a few tucked away reefs and beachies threw up some epic cylinders. Perth and Mandurah surfers scored too with some hollow right handers flaring up along the beachbreaks.
The swell eased into Tuesday but held solid in the 6ft+ range down south and a fun 2-3ft along exposed metro beaches. Clean offshore east winds made for a joy morning to be a surfer in the west.
The next round of swell showed on up on Thursday morning with early long period forerunners of WSW swell. Exposed breaks were showing solid 8ft+ bombs with winds from the ENE. The swell held steady through the day with winds shifting NNE'ly making for some N'ly drift.
Friday dawned with some reinforced WSW swell energy. Down south was solid with 10ft+ bombs showing at exposed reefs and bombies. Metro beaches held 4ft set waves all under clean offshore E'ly winds through the day. An epic day of waves up and down the coast.
The good run continued into the weekend under clear skies, all day offshores and a pumping WSW swell. Saturday saw bigger sets in the 8ft range while Sunday saw a slight ease in swell with waves generally around the 4-6ft range. Pretty much everywhere was pumping from Cape to Cape. Hope you all got a few....
